This is one of my first paintings called "Always". There is a poem written on the canvas in memory for Brenda Willoughby whom I was involved with from 1975 until 1995. We remained very close until her untimely death at the age of 53 in 2006 due to breast cancer. For the two years before her death, I took care of her during the day until her partner returned home from work. At which time I started my work day.
I do not usually disclose who inspired the painting. Why you ask? Every woman wants to think they are the inspiration behind the artist and in truth they are. Brenda may have been the initial flame however it was those who followed that fueled the creation further.
Brenda and I were able to share a few birthday cupcakes for my 50th birthday in July of 2006. On August 8th she died.
You are with me always,
In my thoughts and dreams,
In my every day things,
You are with me,
Always....
Look to the right of the small heart, there you will find a hint of the poem. It also runs through out, in small segments vertical a little left and right of the heart just below the small heart and around the canvas.
One heart feeds into the other just as love feeds into the other. Though the flesh may vanish the feelings of love remain.
